Homemade Whipped Cream

Chances are you have handcrafted your own whipped cream at some point in time. Add a little heavy whipping cream, a dash of sugar, a bloop of vanilla, and voila! You’ve got yourself a little cloud of heaven.
My family always used regular table sugar and a hand mixer to do the job. This method has recently been given a little makeover and I do declare it’s even better now. Instead of regular sugar, we shall now use powdered sugar! It leaves a much smoother result in the final cream. And now that we have the Vitamix…obviously that is the machine to use here. Did you know that you can powder your own regular sugar in there? It’s true. With 1/2 cup of the granulated stuff and some high powered blending, you’ll have a fine grind in no time. Take some of it out first because it is probably more than you’ll need for your batch of whipped cream. If you are wondering how to store this leftover Homemade Powdered Sugar you should check out this link for a diy mason jar hack!

You’ll need:
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tbsp homemade powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Add your ingredients to the Vitamix. Blend until thickened to cream. Be careful not to over whip or it might cream to butter. Which is definitely not the worst thing that could happen.

Enjoy your whipped cream on fresh fruit, dolloped in your coffee, on a slice of pie, or in tiny, inconspicuous finger licks as needed.
